Bitcoin is No. 3 Most Searched on Google in 2017
Google just published its list of for 2017’s hottest topics online and, as most people guessed it correctly, “bitcoin” emerged as among the top keywords people searched for on the Internet.
According to the searh giant’s detailed list of “Year in Search 2017,” a roundup of the biggest searches for 2017, “bitcoin” ranked second under the “Global News” category, a distinction that proves the volume was of search is higher for technology compared to some of the year’s trending scoops that includes natual events like earthquakes, solar eclipse and mass shootings.
Interestingly, the search phrase ‘How to Buy Bitcoin’ also emerged as among the most searched queries online.
Growing interest for Bitcoin
Digital currency has made shockwaves around the globe for 2017 alone, with Bitcoin enjoying a 2,000 percent increase in market value, the reason why many people took interest in purchasing electronic money and making huge return in investment in the process.
During the past few weeks, virtual money such as Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ehereum have captured the hearts of many people who are seriously assessing the volatility and gains of pouring their money in the digital currency business.
Bitcoin rose from a mere $900 in January this year, to an unprecedented record peak of $19,785 in December. The digital currenfy market capitalization also hit more than $650 billion, advancing from $17 billion since mid-January, based on data by CoinMarketCap.
